Steps
- Pre-heat the oven according to biscuit package directions. Do not cook them yet.
- Prepare meat according to package directions. Over medium heat in a large skillet, brown meat until thoroughly cooked. If necessary, drain excess grease.
- Add taco seasoning packet to meat and stir.
- Open package and separate biscuits.
- Turn the muffin pan upside down so that the opening faces down.
- Lightly grease pan. Take the biscuits and place each one over the inverted openings, slightly stretching the biscuit over the edges thus "bowl" shaping them. Careful not to tear the dough or spread to thinly.
- Bake biscuits according to package directions, checking frequently. Due to our modification of cooking them, the biscuits may take less time to bake.
- Cook until golden brown outside. When done, let cool on pan about 3 min. then gently remove them by grasping onto edges.
- Place open side up (bowl side up) on cooling tray. Once cool, fill with meat, garnish with cheese and vegetables.
Tips
- Only lightly grease the pan!
- Great to fill with different things such as rice, beans, other meats, or a variety.
- Great as appetizers at parties or when entertaining
Warnings
- Be careful not to burn the biscuit bowls! If you are concerned about this or in high- altitude, decrease oven temp by 25 degrees only. Because the dough is spread more thinly than usual, cook on middle rack in oven.
